1. Recruiting Impact of Four Game Losing Streak

My first thought when Syracuse struggles and goes on a losing streak is how does this impact recruiting. Especially with the commits. Here is the good news. I do not expect that the losing streak or a disappointing finish to the season itself will have an impact on the commitment status of current commits. What could have an impact is if Syracuse decides to move on from Dino Babers. That would impact commits and current players on the roster. That is pretty standard. Everyone will not stay. It is hard to guess which ones would leave, but that would certainly be something to monitor closely in such a scenario. The other way this impacts recruiting is with current targets. Specifically Syair Torrence. What I had heard was that Syracuse was one of, if not the, favorite for Torrence following his decommitment from Michigan State. However, the losing streak combined with questions swirling about Babers' future may change that. Torrence visited Penn State over the weekend with his CBA teammates. While the Nittany Lions have not offered, it does show that Torrence is very open in his recruitment right now. Syracuse has a lot of work to do there even if they are still considered one of the favorites right now.

2. Expected Visitors for Boston College Game

The visitor list for Friday night's game against Boston College is expected to be smaller than previous games. Some may read into this as a sign regarding the team's play, expected crowd and/or situation with the coaching staff. Do not read into it like that, however. Friday nights are when most high school football teams play and this weekend is the start of state playoffs in many areas of the country. Therefore, most recruits will not be available to attend. So expect the visitor list to be on the smaller size.

3. Dino Babers

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the future of Dino Babers and whether or not John WIldhack would make a move before the season ends. I do not think that would happen, personally. Wildhack likes Babers a lot and I do not believe wants to fire him. That is why I think he waits to see how the season plays out before making a decision. In addition, if Syracuse gets to six wins and makes back to back bowl games for the first time in a decade, I believe Dino is retained. The one caveat to that is keep an eye on the game Friday night against Boston College. If Syracuse loses in blowout fashion for the fifth straight game, then I think Wildhack may consider doing something in-season.
