Texas A&M OL Transfer Naquil Betrand Schedules Official Visits to Syracuse, Alabama

Texas A&M offensive lineman transfer Naquil Betrand has locked in two official visits, he told All Syracuse. The first is to Syracuse on January 5th and the second is to Alabama on January 12th. Betrand has also reported an offer from South Florida but there are likely several others as well. He has four years of eligibility remaining after redshirting last season.

Betrand is listed at 6-6, 340 pounds on the Texas A&M website. He signed with the Aggies as part of their 2023 class over offers from Auburn, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Nebraska, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Washington and several others. Betrand's primary recruiter at Texas A&M was Elijah Robinson, who is now Syracuse's defensive coordinator. He was previously committed to Colorado as well.

As a recruit, Betrand was a consensus high three star prospect out of Northeast High School in Philadelphia (PA). He was ranked the 33rd best offensive tackle by 247Sports, 41st best tackle by ESPN, 71st best by Rivals and 74th by On3. In Pennsylvania, 247Sports slotted Betrand 8th best in the state, ESPN ranked him 11th, Rivals put him 15th, while On3 had him 24th.

Syracuse already has one offensive lineman committed through the portal in Georgia transfer Joshua Miller. Miller is expected to play the interior while Betrand is a tackle.

Title: Publisher All Syracuse Education: Roberts Wesleyan College Location: Syracuse, New York Expertise: Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting.  EXPERIENCE Mike McAllister has been covering Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting for more than a decade. Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans.  After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years.  Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports.  Mike has broken news on recruiting, Syracuse basketball and football team information and has established himself as the top recruiting inside in the market. He has appeared on local radio shows, television broadcasts, national radio shows and much more.
