Neiko Mundey 'Grateful and Excited' for Syracuse Basketball Offer

The class of 2026 point guard is one to watch in his recruiting cycle.

Syracuse basketball hosted its annual elite camp on Saturday, and has extended several offers since based on players' performances. One of those offers went down this week to class of 2026 point guard Neiko Mundey. Mundey played his freshman season at Our Lady of Good Counsel High in Maryland, but is transferring to Shabach Christian Academy for his sophomore campaign.

"I first went to the camp to showcase my talent," Mundey said. "They watched some of my games before then so they were really excited to see me compete at the camp. I did really good and got the call the next day."

That call came from one of Syracuse's assistant coaches.

"Coach Brendan Straughn called and he said that him and coach Autry liked what they saw over the summer and at the Syracuse camp," Mundey said. "I was grateful and excited."

The relationship between Mundey and Syracuse has begun and he is looking forward to continuing to develop that. The 6-3 point guard already holds the Orange program in high regards.

"I love how much the fans show support," Mundey said. "I like the development of the players that go there."

Besides Syracuse, Mundey says Florida State is recruiting him hard. The Seminoles are the only other high major to offer to date, but that number will only grow moving forward.
