Class of 2025 Charlotte (NC) Myers Park forward Sadiq White is a 6-8 180 pound elite athlete who is one of the most coveted players at his position. He already holds offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, NC State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and many others. Over the weekend, White spent time on the Syracuse campus for an unofficial visit.

"When I got there, we went to Prime Steakhouse," White said. "I talked to the full coaching staff, I had already known coach Brenden (Straughn). Finally got the chance to meet the head coach, met coach G-Mac and everyone else on the staff. I met Kyle (Cuffe), the kid who transferred in from Kansas. Really good dude, embraced me. And then met JT (Justin Taylor) as well. After dinner they showed me around the school. Had a good time."

The conversations with Cuffe and Taylor centered around what it is like to be a basketball player at Syracuse.

"That Syracuse, New York is Syracuse University," White said. "If you are an athlete and especially on the basketball team, there's a lot of perks to it."

The discussions with the coaches showcased how the Orange plans to use White should he pick to play his college basketball in Central New York.

"They showed me how the guys that play my position, more of a position-less four," White said. "How they have thrived at Syracuse. They said that if I commit to Syracuse, it will be freedom to play your game. Do what you do in transition, do what you do in the half court. Ball screen and roll, on the ball, off the ball, knock the three down. They just told me it would be a lot of freedom.

"I think it fits my skill set really, really well. When they said that, it was all smiles. I had a wonderful time at Syracuse and I'm looking forward to coming back in not too long."

That not too long means an official visit is in the works.

"Syracuse will definitely get an official from Sadiq White," White said. "I don't know when that will be. I probably won't start taking official visits until my high school season is over in March. Right before the Nike session, EYBL, I'll probably come down to Syracuse."

White also said he may come down during this upcoming season for another unofficial in order to attend a game in the JMA Wireless Dome and check out the game day atmosphere.

Overall, the visit went well for both sides as Syracuse showcased itself well in White's eyes.

"I enjoyed Syracuse," White said. "I really, really did. It was one of my first visits in a long time. They put on a good showing for me. The team was really, really cool. The coaching staff was really great, the student body was great. JT and Kyle were like my chauffeurs for the weekend, so I had a good time with them. We had a chance to sit and talk about the program and trust in my development."

White is rated a top 40 player in the 2025 class by all major recruiting services and ranked as high as 28th overall (Rivals).
