Southern Miss QB Commit John White Taking Syracuse Official Visit This Week

The Madison-Ridgeland Academy star will get a closer look at the Orange.

Class of 2024 Madison (MS) Madison-Ridgeland Academy (MRA) quarterback John White will take an official visit to Syracuse starting Thursday, June 1st, he tells All Syracuse. White is listed at 6-0, 205 pounds and is currently committed to Southern Miss. He has not reported an official offer from the Orange to date. White also holds scholarship opportunities from Liberty, Arkansas State, West Virginia, Old Dominion, Tulane and others.

White was named the MVP of the 2024 quarterbacks at the Big 40 football camp last summer and given the Golden Gun Accuracy Award at the Oxford (MS) Elite 11 Camp.

White committed to Southern Miss last summer. Power five schools have been reluctant to offer because he is only six feet and not a few inches taller. His high school film and productivity speak for themselves, however. White led MRA to a state championship as a sophomore, throwing for 3,965 yards and 39 touchdowns while completing 68% of his passes.

Schools are starting to come around despite the lack of ideal height, with West Virginia offering recently and Syracuse scheduling an official visit. This will be his first trip to Central New York. White is rated a three star prospect by On3, 247Sports and Rivals.

In addition to White, two other quarterbacks are expected to visit this month. Evans Chuba has an official visit scheduled for the weekend of June 9th, while Brendan Zurbrugg has one set for the weekend of June 16th
