Ta'Ron Hail Recaps Syracuse Official Visit, Details Next Steps in Recruitment

In this story:
Syracuse football hosted 2024 Millville (NJ) High wide receiver Ta'Ron Haile for an official visit over the weekend.
"We got there on Friday and they picked us up from the airport," Haile said. "We went right to get some food and then had coaches meetings. Over the next few days, we got to hang with the players and got to know them. We then did some fun stuff around campus."
One of the highlights of the trip? The great food he was able to eat.
"I had barbecue, the first day, chicken and ribs and stuff," Haile said. "That was good. Then the next day I had steak and lobster. A whole lot."
Haile's player host was current Syracuse wide receiver Isaiah Jones.
"He was really cool," Haile said. "He told me a lot about it from the sports side and the school side. The every day life. He showed me the campus and stuff."
After getting a closer look at the program, discussions with the players and coaches, Haile's interest in Syracuse increased.
"Syracuse is high on my list," Haile said. "The visit was really good. It definitely shot up a lot after the visit."
Haile does not have any other visits scheduled currently, but says schools like Maryland, Penn State and James Madison are looking to get him on campus. First, however, is an opportunity to impress the Orange coaches in person.
"The coaches haven't really seen me run yet," Haile said. "They're coming to see me Thursday at Monmouth camp. They want to see what I do best and how I'd fit there. But they watched my film and they like my film."

EXPERIENCE Mike McAllister has been covering Syracuse basketball, football and recruiting for more than a decade. Mike's career started with his own free blog as a way to vent following sporting events. Shortly thereafter, a network of basketball sites called Coast 2 Coast Hoops asked him to run their Syracuse site. That site was called Nation of Orange, and Mike quickly established it as a go-to for Syracuse fans. After running Nation of Orange for several months, a position with the Syracuse site on the Scout network became available. After one year as the recruiting expert with Cuse Nation, he was named the publisher. Mike oversaw the transition from Scout to 247Sports, and ran the site on that network for years. Presented with the opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the sports journalism industry, Sports Illustrated, Mike jumped at the chance. All Syracuse was started from scratch by Mike and the Fan Nation team. It has now become a staple for Orange fans of various sports.
