Tristen Graham Details Syracuse Commitment

The class of 2024 defensive lineman discusses picking the Orange.

Syracuse football landed a commitment from the top player in Delaware over the weekend in defensive end Tristen Graham.

"I feel like it was close," Graham said. "It's a drive where my parents would be able to go and see me anytime they want. It's a good school, a power five school. And they were looking at me the most. I really like the program."

During the official visit, there was a specific moment that sealed the deal.

"Probably when coach Achuff called me in a room and he was going over the defense," Graham said. "How he runs things. I feel like that with my playing style, the coaches wouldn't change my whole playing style. They'd critique it and make it better to make me become a better athlete."

That relationship with defensive line coach Chris Achuff was a big reason why the Orange was the right fit.

"Great," Graham said. "I actually got off the phone with him after I posted my Twitter commitment. He was talking about how he was excited to get me down and get me started. He was saying how I have to move different now because I've got Syracuse on my name and now I represent them."

Graham plays at Middletown High in Delaware. That is the same school that produced Braden Davis, an incoming quarterback transfer. Graham and Davis teamed up together a couple of years ago.

"Yeah my sophomore season we won the state championship," Graham said. "I'm excited about that too. I never expected I'd be playing next to BD again."
