Willie Goodacre Details Syracuse Commitment

In this story:
Syracuse football landed 2024 Denton (TX) Guyer offensive lineman Willie Goodacre committed to Syracuse on Monday. He picked the Orange over offers from Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Houston, Kansas, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, SMU and many others.
"It's home," Goodacre said. "It makes you feel like you're part of a team and a family. You have something to work for and look forward to because there's always an opportunity to compete for a starting spot and time on the field."
Once the 6-5, 300 pound offensive lineman visited Syracuse, he put the Orange on top of his recruitment. A visit to Kansas loomed, however, before a decision was made. Following that trip, he new Central New York was his future home. Once the decision was made, it was time to inform his future coaches.
"They were very excited," Goodacre said. "They have a lot to look forward to. They're glad they have Texas influence on the roster and they're ready to see how I compete."
Landing an offensive lineman with several power five offers from a powerhouse program in the talent rich state of Texas is a big recruiting win for Syracuse. Once he arrives, Goodacre plans to live up to that promise.
"All I can guarantee is that I love football," Goodacre said. "I'm going to give it everything I got to make Syracuse one of the top 25 schools in the nation."
