Syracuse Men’s Soccer Earns Draw With Wolfpack in Last Home Game of Season

The Orange wrapped up its home conference slate.

The Orange tied North Carolina State 1-1 this afternoon, but what really stood out is how many more goals the Orange likely should have tallied.

NC State came into this game having only won one ACC contest, a 2-0 win over Boston College back on September 8th.

That didn’t stop the Wolfpack from jumping out to a 1-0 lead in minute 51 when Right Wing Hakim Karamoko found the back of the net.

The Orange dominated in just about every statistical aspect of the game, including out-shooting the Wolfpack 18-2, winning the on-goal category 6-2 and earning 11 corner kicks while only giving up 2.

Unfortunately for the Orange, NC State goalkeeper Samuel Terranova kept the Syracuse attack at bay for the most part, only letting one slip through.

The one that slipped through came in the 77th minute as midfielder Lorenzo Boselli picked up his 6th goal of the season, and his first since a September 22nd matchup with Pittsburgh. From here on out, the already stout Syracuse defense would continue to dominate, not giving up a single shot from this point forward, as the contest would end in a 1-1 draw.

As the 2023 season comes to a close, Syracuse fans now gear up for what they hope will be a deep ACC and national tournament run. The 2023 season saw the Orange begin the campaign ranked #1 overall, and although they battled through a tough stretch near the middle of the year, they have fought back late in the season. They will look to finish strong as they head to Chestnut Hill to face off against Boston College in the 2023 season finale at 7 p.m. Friday night.

The ACC Men’s Soccer Tournament kicks off Wednesday November 1st and will conclude Monday November 13th, just three days before the NCAA Championships begin.

As for the Wolfpack, they will now prepare to host Clemson in their 2023 finale, also slated for a 7 p.m. Friday kick.
