The Texas A&M Aggies men's basketball team lost a heartbreaker to the Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday when Commodores guard Ezra Manjon hit a contested jumper as time expired to lift Vanderbilt to a 74-73 win at Memorial Gymnasium.

It was a closely contested contest where neither team led by more than four points for the entire game.

Did Aggies coach Buzz Williams predict the loss?

Earlier in the day, Williams spoke about Vanderbilt's offense under coach Jerry Stackhouse during media availability and mentioned potential issues. “They have the most dense playbook in Division I history,” Williams said. “I used to say that about Coach [Jim] Christian when he was the head coach at Boston College.”

Stackhouse is in his fifth season as the Commodores' coach, and he's obviously building on what he learned from 19 seasons in the NBA.

“Coach Stackhouse, his offensive skill, how he utilizes all 12 players [and they all] will play. He will mix and match the groups. You can tell he watches an enormous amount of film because he attacks what he believes your weak spot is and or defensive philosophy,” Williams explained.

“I enjoy watching them, I don’t enjoy playing against them.”

Vandy won just its second SEC game on Tuesday and just its 10th of the season overall. While the Aggies have struggled all season from beyond the arc, that wasn't an issue on Tuesday, when A&M went 8-for-18 from 3-point range. So that's not an excuse.

A&M was an 8.5 favorite entering the game, and the offensive scheme of Stackhouse seems to have confused the Aggies' defense all the way to a loss.
