Aggies Open As Slim Betting Favorite Against Miami

The Texas A&M Aggies are favored in their rematch against the Miami Hurricanes in the return game of the home-and-home series, but by how much?

The Texas A&M Aggies and Miami Hurricanes were two of the country's many disappointing teams in 2022.

The two squared off last season and for the return game in Miami Gardens, Florida, the Aggies open as three-point favorites over the Hurricanes Saturday, according to Circa Sports. The over/under has been set at 46.5 — the fifth-lowest total in Week 2 — with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.

Both teams went 1-0 against the spread in Week 1, as the Aggies defeated the New Mexico Lobos 52-10 and covered the 37.5-point spread. Miami beat Miami (OH) 38-3, annihilating the 16.5 points they were getting against the Redhawks Friday.

Texas A&M hit the over 48.5 by itself with New Mexico's 10 points added as a cushion, but Miami (OH) didn't hold up its end of the bargain in the scoring column as the Redhawks and Hurricanes hit the under 45.

Quarterback Conner Weigman came out and proved why he earned Texas A&M's starting gig. He became the first Aggies gunslinger to throw five touchdowns in a season opener and just the eighth different signal-caller to do so in program history.

Noah Thomas was the beneficiary of three touchdowns and Evan Stewart hauled in two, providing a solid one-two receiving option moving forward.

Tyler Van Dyke didn't have to have an overwhelming resurgence from his scuffling 2022 season on Saturday. The Hurricanes' rushing attack carried the load, going 250 yards and three touchdowns against the Redhawks.

Last season, Texas A&M held on to beat Miami 17-9 at Kyle Field, but the Hurricanes had a chance to tie the game.

After a punt to the Miami 43-yard line, the Hurricanes picked up 17 yards in five plays, but turned it over on downs on the Aggies 40-yard line to cement what was Texas A&M's second win of the season.
