Texas A&M Aggies vs. Tennessee Volunteers Game Predictions

The Tennessee Volunteers host the Texas A&M Aggies in Knoxville on Saturday, with everything on the line for the Maroon and White.

The Tennessee Volunteers host the Texas A&M Aggies in Knoxville on Saturday, with everything on the line for the Maroon and White.

The Aggies are coming off a loss against the Alabama Crimson Tide last week, and should they fall again in Knoxville, will be hard-pressed to find themselves back into SEC West contention

The No. 19 Vols won double-digit games last year for the first time since 2007, and the program feels like it's finally getting solid again under coach Josh Heupel.

So far this season, Tennessee is sitting at 4-1 overall, with their lone losses coming against Florida.

As such, and with matchups against Alabama, Kentucky and Georgia still looming, the Volunteers find themselves in a similar position to Texas A&M.

In other words, it is a must-win game for two teams looking desperately to cling on to their chance at a trip to Atlanta.

Tennessee has one of the most high-powered offenses in the country, led by arguably the most physically gifted quarterback in the conference in Jor Milton. Without Conner Weigman, can the Aggies keep up? I don't think so. It's close, but the Volunteers steal it.

The Aggies have one of the most talented defenses in the country, and if they get after Joe Milton, it could be a problem for the Volunteers. That said, the Aggies will need a great game out of Max Johnson if they are going to compete with the Tennessee offense. I think the Vols have the edge here.

Tennessee is one of the best teams playing at home and the Aggies might be exhausted from their four-game stretch. It’s close until the end, but endings often have a sour outcome.

The Aggies had a rude awakening a week ago after suffering yet another loss to Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide. Because of that, however, Texas A&M learned where it stood, changed mindset and has its sights set on bouncing back against Tennessee. It won’t be a walk in the park, but I think the Aggies bring it on offense and handle business on the road.
