When sports fans think about the term, "two-sport athlete", they usually consider maybe football and baseball. We have many examples, but the most prominent are Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders.

On Friday, we lost another two-sport athlete to retirement, former Texas A&M placekicker, Josh Lambo.

Lambo, who played in both the NFL and MLS announced on social media that he was hanging up his cleats:

“Today, I officially retire from pro sports. 4 years in MLS and 7 in the NFL have led me to things I could only dream of, and now I want to help others accomplish their goals as I become a speaker and author. Thank you to the fans that supported me and the teammates I worked with,” Lambo wrote.

When he was just 17 years old, Lambo was drafted into Major League Soccer and played until 2012, when he decided to enroll at Texas A&M and give football a try.

Lambo joined the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and in 2017 joined the Jaguars, where he played for coach Urban Meyer.

Lambo might be best remembered for his time in Jacksonville when he accused Meyer of walking up to him on the practice field and said, “Hey, dip***, make your f****** kicks,” and then kicked him in the leg. Meyer was out of the league not long after.

Lambo now retires from one of the more unique professional sports careers.
