UMass Freshman R.J. Luis To Visit College Station

In this story:
Texas A&M men's basketball will undoubtedly be looking to come back even stronger next year, though it will have to make do without the help of Dexter Dennis — the Aggies' transfer guard who became a big part of their winning ways last season.
And UMass transfer guard R.J. Luis could be what the Aggies are looking for.

Luis reportedly has a visit scheduled with Williams and Texas A&M this weekend, looking to put a face to a name and school ahead of his impending decision.
Last season, the freshman averaged 11.5 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Minutemen, showing right away a high level of talent within the program. The young standout was among the top of his team in points and has received high interest from programs across the nation, including Arizona, Iowa State, Georgia and Penn State.
But what would the Aggies bring to the table?
Luis would have a chance to gain instant minutes for Texas A&M, filling in for the hole that Dennis left at the guard spot, while also learning from the SEC's Co-Coach of the Year and his upperclassmen teammates in Wade Taylor IV and Tyrece Radford.
He would also have the opportunity to help elevate the Aggies further, as they still look to make it back to the sweet sixteen years after their 2017-2018 appearance.
And while Luis does not have the experience or "maturity" that typically comes with age, he does bring promising potential to any team looking to add a highly-skilled guard through the portal.
The Aggies will just need to show him why his best option would be to buy into their vision for next season and beyond.
