Aggies Land Commitment from 3-Star LB Tristan Jernigan

In this story:
What a way to kick off the month of May.
Not only did the Texas A&M Aggies add to their football recruiting class of 2024 with a new pledge, but it did so against many SEC foes in the middle of enemy SEC territory in winning the recruitment of Tristan Jernigan.
The Tupelo (Miss.) High School star linebacker, who had told Fan Nation he was looking to leave the state for some time, went public with a commitment to Jimbo Fisher's program on Monday evening.
"First and foremost I just wanna thank God and my family and everything y’all have done for me," Jernigan posted via social media. "I thank y’all for supporting me through this process and I’m ready to be an AGGIE . I‘ve worked so hard for this and I am proud of myself thank y’all . “ GO AGGIES “ 👍🏾🤎🤍
“The culture is amazing, I mean it’s Texas A&M,” Jernigan told On3. “I love it and they are the best school for me. The coaching staff, the love they showed, the players there, and their facilities. I’m excited to be a part of Texas A&M.”
The Aggies beat out national champion Georgia and Oregon among Jernigan's finalists, though he sported some 20 scholarship offers throughout the process. Per MaxPreps, the newest TAMU defender totaled 96 tackles as a junior in 2022, including 8 for loss and 8.5 more in sacks. The defensive prowess helped THS make a run all the way to the Mississippi Class 6A state semifinals.
Jernigan joins fellow Mississippian Anthony Maddox, Texan linemen Daelyn Evans and Ashton Funk as well as Peach State wide receiver Debron Gatling on the Texas A&M class of 2024 verbal commitment list to date.
