Marquez Callaway Signs With Denver

Former Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Marquez Callaway inked a deal with the Denver Broncos on Friday.

Marquez Callaway signed a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos on Friday, as reported by Mike Klis. The contract's details regarding how much it will be worth have yet to be disclosed. In three years with the New Orleans Saints, Callaway had 83 catches in 42 games. He totaled 1,069 yards and seven touchdowns, including six in 2021.

Callaway played at Tennessee from 2016 to 2019. Despite playing just one game as a freshman, he had 92 catches throughout his career. He had 1646 yards and 13 touchdowns. Marquez Callaway also had three kick return touchdowns in his time at Tennessee. He went undrafted, with the Saints signing him as an undrafted free agent.

It may be tough for Callaway to find playing time in Denver. The Broncos already have some big names at the wide receiver position, such as Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton. He will also have to compete with Tim Patrick, KJ Hamler, and Kendall Hinton. He will be joining former Volunteer Jonathan Kongbo, who played in three games as a linebacker for the Broncos last season. It is of note that Callaway played under current Broncos Coach Sean Payton earlier in his career in New Orleans.
