Just In: Vols Likely Without Yves Pons for Georgia Matchup

Tennessee will be without a key piece of its rotation tonight against a red-hot Georgia team coming off of three straight conference victories. Yves Pons will likely miss tonight's contest against Georgia. Pons did not go through warmups for the Vols, and he is not in the starting rotation.

Pons struggled in Tennessee's last outing against Kentucky, scoring only six points, but his presence around the rim is undeniable. He has been banged up since Tennessee's win over Kansas after a nasty fall.

Pons is the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and he is in consideration for multiple national awards in the 2020-21 season.

Pons has recorded 101 blocks over his last 48 games. Tennessee will certainly miss his leadership and physical defensive presence tonight if he does not participate. He is dressed out, but his status looks doubtful.
