Alpharetta, Ga.-- 2022 offensive lineman Maurice "Mo" Clipper Jr. of Milton high school (Ga.) has seen recruitment skyrocket of late. He has picked up several offers, including Tennessee and Georgia, and he has been in contact with multiple college coaches along the way. Following the Atlanta Under Armour Camp's conclusion, Clipper went in-depth on his growing relationship with the Vols and the recruitment explosion.

"It was a little overwhelming but definitely exciting," Clipper said of the recent uptick in his recruitment. That's a good thing, though, and I am excited about it."

"Building relationship with the coaches, and being able to talk them because I really couldn't do that before with COVID," Clipper said of what he has enjoyed about the process.

"I can move at my size, move my feet, get up the field and block in the run and game and move in the passing game," Clipper said of what most coaches have said they like about his game.

Clipper now holds over 15 Division 1 offers, and he says the schools standing out to him the most are, "Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Tennessee."

Clipper has not set any official visits at this point, but he is planning to take visits in June if things open back up.

"I like the culture they have there," Clipper said of Virginia Tech. " I like the coaching staff. I talk to coach Davidson and Vince a lot."

"Same thing really. Coach Braswell is doing a good job of talking to me really," Clipper said of Maryland. He keeps me in the loop."

Clipper communicates with several coaches at Tennessee, including Glen Elarbee and Alex Golesh.

"They give you a really warm welcome," Clipper said of Tennessee. "They do a good job of showing you everything, like with Virginia Tech; I enjoyed the zooms I have done with both of those schools."

"I would say they are really open about stuff, they are family-oriented, and they make you feel like you are at home. They do a good job of that, too," he added about Tennessee's staff.

"That sounds like music to my ears. I can do the fast-paced offense, and I like that a lot," Clipper said of the idea of playing in Tennessee's offense.

Tennessee is also recruiting Milton standout RB Jordan McDonald, and the two could have the opportunity to play together at the next level.

"Me and Jordan share a few offers, and we talk about it from time, so we will see,” Clipper said of the possibility.

“I am thinking around late July, but it will really depend on if I can get out for these visits,” Clipper said of his recruitment timeline.

What’s the Peach State standout looking for in a school?

“Somewhere I feel like can develop me the best and fully, and somewhere I feel like will be a good fit and opportunity for me. A band of brothers.”

Clipper Jr. also made it on SI All-American’s All-22 team for Sunday’s event based off of his performance.

“‘Mo' Clipper was another offensive line prospect we didn't see lose a rep on Sunday, Director of Recruiting John Garcia Jr. said. “The Milton (Ga.) prospect looks like a potential future swing prospect with great length and movement skill. Clipper lined up inside and won despite a major size disadvantage against his initial assignment and secured another win with his initial punch and inside grip strength.”
