Amir Leonard-Jean Charles Recaps His Tennessee Visit
Lipscomb Academy defensive lineman Amir Leonard-Jean Charles recently made it to Knoxville, Tennessee, for a visit with the Vols. He ranks as the No. 488 prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings. The in-state had a good time during his trip to the University of Tennessee, and following his visit spoke with Volunteer Country about his time on campus.
"The visit was one of my personal favorites, and it was just fun all around. Although I didn't talk to any commits but I did talk to my guy Boo [Carter]." He did talk about his specific conversation with defensive analyst Levorn Harbin and linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary, who recently took the Michigan job as their linebacker coach. "Coach BJ and Coach Chop are the coaches I talked to. It went well. We were laughing and talking about our practice at Lipscomb." he states, "Their pitch to me is to keep on building and that they are watching me."
"One thing that stood out was that Coach [Josh] Heupel and all the other coaches were playing basketball with us. Really, we were just having fun. You don't see that everywhere. I love the vibe the coaches were giving off that whole time." He also talks about his future visit plans and where Tennessee stands in his recruitment. "I plan to come back and visit because Tennessee is one of my top schools now."
Charles was teammates with two 2024 Tennessee signees, Kaleb Beasley and Edwin Spillman. He is also teammates with current Volunteers targets Kris Thompson and CJ Jimcoily. There are many targets at Lipscomb High School, and Charles is one of them. Landing one of those targets would be huge and could be a huge selling point to the remainder of the targets at the talented in-state program.
