Donelson Christian Academy tight end Carson Sneed has gotten used to Rocky Top over his two-year high school career. His older brother, Dayton Sneed, plays wide receiver for the Vols, giving them an inside track early for Carson. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he ranks as the No. 64 prospect in the 2026 class and the No. 3 tight end.

Sneed lists offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and more early in his recruitment. 247Sports' Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong crystal-balled Sneed to Tennessee on June 1, and they've continued to build momentum since. Sneed caught up with Volunteer Country.

"My visit went good. I got to meet a couple of new people in the building," he explained. A big pitch for Sneed on this visit was how Tennessee prioritizes him in his own recruiting class. "It sounds like they have a lot of confidence in themselves and the program. Their pitch to me is that I am their No. 1 2026 priority; not to say other schools aren’t coming after me, but they are making it known to me they want me."

While his older brother is playing football at the University of Tennessee, Sneed wants to make an independent decision for himself. However, it certainly helps to know that you have a familiar face in the building, and Carson confirmed the two spoke to each other over the weekend. "I saw him briefly; we talked a little, and then he was on his way."

Sneed brings college-ready size at 6-6 and 226 pounds, but he moves very well. He competes for his high school team and in the 7-on-7 circuit with the National Playmakers Academy. He has built quite a name for himself, being the No. 2-ranked player in Tennessee - he only trails Nashville Christian School quarterback Jared Curtis, the top signal caller in his class. Sneed has been increasingly a priority for this 2026 class, and he continues to attend big events for the Vols.
