Tennessee Continues To Prioritize Jerrick Gibson
Jerrick Gibson is a 5-foot-10-inch running back who plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. According to 247 Sports, he is a five-star recruit and a top-25 player in the 2024 class.
Gibson has received offers from Tennessee and other high-profile programs like Georgia, Texas, and Alabama. What makes him appealing to these coaches is his size. He weighs around 200 pounds.
Many scouts and reporters have been really enticed by Gibson's speed for his size as well. His cuts to the outside of the field allow him to gain lots of "North to South" yardage. His size also helps him in one-on-one open-field tackles against defenders he faces.
According to Max Preps, the IMG back finished with 626 yards and five total touchdowns in just seven games. He also had an insane 6.7-yard average. This clearly shows the skill Gibson has to be a downhill back with both speed and physicality in his arsenal.
This also means that he averaged right around 90 yards a game. Solid numbers to have a school that is not only one of the best but also plays the best high schools around the country. Gibson's official visits to schools will begin this summer. He will come to Knoxville to visit the Vols on June 16.
