Coveted In-State WR Target Miller Discusses Talks With Vols Head Coach

Tennessee announced Josh Heupel as its 27th Head Football Coach on Wednesday afternoon. Shortly after the announced, VR2 on SI reached out to muliple in-state prospects to gather their reaction on the news.

Memphis Academy of Health star receiver Cameron Miller said, "I know the head coach is a winning coach because he came from a winning program, so it's going to be pretty good."

It did not take long for Heupel and Miller to connect. In fact, as the whirlwind day was winding down for Heupel, Miller and the Vols new head coach had their first conversation before calling it a night.

Miller said, " Coach Heupel was telling me how much he cares for the in-state kids to stay in the state and play for the Vols."

He also told Miller, "he is going to bring this program back to their feet for them to be back to where they were before."

Heupel called several in-state prospects during his rounds, and his call to Miller made an impression. "It means that he cares and shows that he really wants me, since he was just getting here and called me to tell me his plan of recruiting me and making me stay here," ,Miller said.

The ability for Miller to fit in Heupel's offensive scheme is obvious, and the coveted pass-catcher from West Tennessee sees it too. He said, "I'll be able to fit in his play-style because I can do it all at wide receiver or slot, so I can do a lot of moving around, getting active for the ball, or making plays for others.
