Damien Shanklin Trims Recruitment
2025 four-star edge rusher Damien Shanklin (Indianapolis, In.) has trimmed his recruitment down to 12 schools, including the Tennessee Volunteers.
Warren Central High School edge rusher Damien Shanklin has drawn a lot of attention this offseason. He's added 11 offers in the New Year, and that list consists of some elite programs. LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas A&M have all offered the talented pass rusher in the past few weeks, but they are all trailing those who have been in this recruitment for a while.
Shanklin has scheduled official visits with the Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas Longhorns this summer. Those two programs are in the thick of this recruitment, but both seem to be looking up at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and company have done a nice job of recruiting their No. 1 in-state prospect, but the Vols and others do have a shot here.
He cut his list down to 12 schools on Wednesday afternoon. Cincinnati, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and Washington all made the cut for Shanklin. He ranks as the No. 110 prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings. Shanklin logged 66 tackles, 17 for loss, five sacks, and an interception during his junior season at Warren Central.
