Freddie Dubose Jr. Visits Knoxville

The Tennessee Volunteers are hosting their "865 Live Event" this weekend with several high priorities attending. Four-star wideout Freddie Dubose Jr. is one of those priorities.

Freddie Dubose Jr. is a four-star wide receiver out of Smithson Valley High School in Spring Branch, Texas. The wideout stands 6 feet, 1 inch tall, and weighs 170 pounds. He is in the class of 2024. On Friday, he visited Knoxville and posted a picture in front of the famed “T” during his visit. Tennessee offered him in July of 2022 and is one of 20 schools to have done so. Other schools include Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, UTSA, and more. There is a lot of competition from the SEC and his home state of Texas, but hopefully, this weekend will have a big impact on the receiver.

Dubose is a multi-sport athlete who transferred from Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas, after his sophomore year. He runs track and field, participating in the long jump, triple jump, and 400-meter dash, according to 247Sports. He was a part of his school’s regional championship 4x400 relay team. He tore his ACL in 2022, limiting him to just one game, but he will look to recover and bounce back before he heads off to college. In his last full season, 2021, he had 24 catches for 423 yards and two scores. Dubose is an explosive playmaker, showing that with a kickoff return touchdown in his sophomore season. As a pass catcher, he uses his track speed to beat defenders down the field, a perfect trait for Tennessee’s high-powered offense.
