In-State Cornerback Caden Harris Talks Recruitment

2026 corner Caden Harris (Brownsville, Tenn.) updated his relationship with the Tennessee Volunteers.
In this story:

Caden Harris is an in-state cornerback prospect in the 2026 class. Harris plays high school ball at Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tennessee. He holds multiple offers from top programs such as Mississippi State, Colorado, Memphis, TCU, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and more. The 6’1, 165-pound defensive back has been catching steam on the recruiting trail, and he took the time to break everything down with Volunteer Country.

“My recruitment has been pretty good lately; I’ve just been talking to a couple of coaches from time to time,” the in-state prospect states. He then goes on to say, “I have been in the most contact with Vanderbilt and Colorado as of late. They periodically check in to make sure I’m good, and they pretty much just try to stay connected and deepen our relationship.”

He has visited Tennessee in the past. He talks about Tennessee and his relationship with the program and staff by saying, “Our relationship is still very good. Coach Martinez and I are pretty close. When I last spoke with him, we were on the same page as far as staying on course and staying dedicated. He also has a level of intensity he coaches with that matches my work ethic, which strengthens our relationship overall.” Harris also says, “Of course, Tennessee is towards the top of my list currently; I loved the atmosphere there, and I believe they’re building something special.”

He then goes on to talk about the uniqueness of Colorado and its staff, as well as what catches his eye. “They check on me all the time, and to know that they’re recruiting me while changing the culture of the program shows that they want me to be part of that, which means a lot.”

As far as Vanderbilt goes, Harris states, “They also check in quite often; they’ve been on me really heavy, and I love the education part of the school. Also, seeing how many younger guys they have that actually play was unique to me.” As of now, Harris doesn’t have any visit plans, but he also stated, “I’d like to visit all schools that have offered me to get a view of the academic program and see how the coaches operate everything.”
