Orlando, Fla.-- Wide Receiver Cameron Miller is one of the most coveted prospects in the state of Tennessee in the 2022 recruiting class. Miller holds over 20 Division 1 offers with schools like Alabama, Florida, Memphis, Mississippi State, and Tennessee all involved in his recruitment. Miller starred as an athlete, playing both sides of the ball, at the Central Florida Invitational 7v7 this past weekend. Following the event, Miller discussed his recruitment with Sports Illustrated.

While Miller continues conversations with all of the schools mentioned above, communication with Alabama is the most frequent. Alabama defensive line coach and area recruiter Freddie Roach has communicated with Miller the most for the Crimson Tide.

"It's been going pretty good. I talk to coach Roach and get a feel for what they've got going on up there in Tuscaloosa," Miller said. "It's just still good to be able to be recruited by them even though I wasn't able to play this past year."

Alabama has not settled on which side of the ball Miller would play on if he were to end up in Tuscaloosa. "I haven't really talked to the OC yet," Miller said. " I have talked to coach Wiggins the week I was in Atlanta. I showed him a couple of clips of me playing 7-on-7. I've really been talking to Roach. He's been asking me how big and fast I've got. They don't really know if they want me on offense or defense yet, so that's why they are taking their time recruiting me."

Miller's usual 7-v-7 quarterback is recent Alabama commitment Ty Simpson, who has been in his ear about joining him in Tuscaloosa.

"That's my boy," Miller said. "He's always telling me 'roll tide' and come be great and stuff. He is just telling everything like that, but I am still keeping my options open right now."

"It would be a great opportunity to go play up there at the top-level college," Miller added about the Crimson Tide. "It would be a blessing for sure, but it just comes down to what is best for me."

Josh Heupel has zeroed in on Miller since taking the Tennessee job. Miller was one of Heupel's first phone calls, and the relationship between the two has only grown since then.

"Me and Heupel, I think we are getting closer day by day," Miller said. "I call him all the time. He calls me, talking about how I am doing, am I playing basketball or football. Just checking up and telling me about what he is going to do this season and how he is going to kick everybody's butt. They are going to score points, and he wants me in that offense so I can score points too."

"That is a real blessing," Miller said about Heupel prioritizing him. "For him to talk to me a lot and have me as one of his number one priorities in the 2022 offensive class is pretty big for me and my platform. I would love to play for Coach Heupel, but it all depends on the coaching staff and how everything is going up there at UT."

Tennessee is selling Miller on how he can be used in their offense, and the message has been clear.

"Just they like to create one-on-ones for their receivers. When you are a guy like me, you know you have to win your one-on-ones, and that's what I like about him. He is aggressive and doesn't care who you are or what team you are; he is going to go at you aggressively and try to score points the best he can."

Miller feels like that is the best part of his game, going and getting the ball. "The thing that sets me apart is I am just a go-get-it type of guy. I'm the one that's trying to go get it done in any way I can," he told VR2 on SI in February. "I try my best to go get a jump ball; most likely, I'm going to win that jump ball. That's how I put my mind to any jump ball, basically."

Miller has not started setting any official visits at this point, but he is planning to set some soon. Tennessee will be on the schedule when he locks them in, along with Mississipi State, Illinois, Alabama, and Florida. Memphis continues to recruit the coveted prospects, but with his proximity to campus, he will plan to use the other five schools for his five official visits.

"Now I know that we can take visits, I plan on really starting to narrow it down and working towards a decision once I visit four out of those six schools, but I would like to get to all of them," Miller said on his timeline.

"I think it is going to take a lot of trust in me and what I can bring to their program and me trusting them to take care of me on and off the field," Miller said. "Even if football doesn't work, I want to be able to get a good education. It is going to take a lot of trust and a program with good people and relationships. That is my biggest priority."
