Jayden Loftin Recaps Visit With Josh Heupel

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel was on the road again, visiting another prospect on their board. Somerville High School edge rusher Jayden Loftin was one of the most recent athletes to see Heupel. The New Jersey product stands 6-4 and weighs 235 pounds. He took the time to describe his time with Heupel with Volunteer Country.

"It was huge to be visited by Tennessee, especially being the head guy. It showed me the interest that they have in me, and I appreciate the time they took to talk to me and my mom," the talented prospect states. He was then asked what he felt made Tennessee unique. He responded, "The unity and the academics that they have. I have not been yet, so that list will most likely get longer."

The talented edge prospect was asked what the pitch from Heupel was to him. "He emphasized the importance of me getting out there to see the campus and how they run things in the program, and I also feel like that is a priority," Loftin states. He also follows that up with a statement stating, "My family and I are planning to go in April for a visit."

He was asked what he believes he could bring to a high-level program like Tennessee. "I believe I can bring a different skill set in terms of my pass rush ability but also my ability to be able to drop back in coverage," the 2025 recruit replied. Tennessee seems to be making a push, considering you can't visit everyone during the school week. Heupel and this staff will likely look to gain ground in the Loftin recruitment as time goes by, especially following his visit to Tennessee.
