Like Aces Elite tight end Matt Buron, teammate DJ Johnson was not a name the VR2 on SI staff knew coming into last Saturday.

Johnson made sure to change that on one of the first plays from scrimmage.

He batted down what looked to be an easy catch for East Tennessee Elite, and the Bolles (Jacksonville, Fla.) product continued making plays throughout the afternoon.

That first pass breakup can be seen below, as can one other nice deflection. Overall, Johnson showed he is a promising defensive back that can play above a smaller stature to be a true lockdown corner.
