In this story:

Every week it seems there is new information regarding Tennessee and a top defensive line target. These things come with the territory of having defensive line coach Rodney Garner in your building - the Vols will be in high-profile recruitments, and while they have and will land top prospects, they also will lose out on some. Though they haven't officially lost out on four-star defensive end Kamarion Franklin, things aren't looking good.

Franklin had a fantastic season for Lake Cormorant High School. He set the program record for single-season sacks in his junior year, piling up 19. He quickly drew the eyes of programs like Auburn, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Franklin made trips to each place, but a top three of Auburn, Miami, and Tennessee quickly broke out. He canceled an official visit to LSU, and Ole Miss never got up toward the top of his favorites for a substantial period. Tennessee has had most of the momentum throughout the spring and summer, but the Auburn Tigers have made a push in the past few weeks.

On3 Auburn recruiting insider Cole Pinkston put in a forecast for Franklin to commit to Auburn on August 9th, 2023. One day later, 247Sports' Auburn insider Christian Clemente put in a crystal ball for Franklin to Auburn. Two more On3 insiders, Sam Spiegelman and Michael Langston have put in picks for Auburn since. Franklin will decide between Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, and Tennessee on August 19th, 2023, and all the momentum is with Auburn and head coach Hugh Freeze
