Newton High School (Ga.) has continued to produce Power Five talent year after year, and 2022 will be no different. Elijah Zollicoffer is one of the new names to know. The 6-6, 320 pounds offensive tackle prospect, who holds six SEC offers, has quickly become a top target for Josh Heupel's new staff at Tennessee. In fact, he spent time with them during a recent zoom call dubbed the "Heup House" where they hosted numerous top targets in once conference call.
"I really enjoyed the zoom," Zollicoffer said. "I took away that the coaching staff just wants you to become a man and get on track."
"They really look at me like a top guy and believe in my skills to help the team out," he said on what they've shown him since taking over in Knoxville.
New Vols offensive line coach Glen Elarbee has been a big part of this for Tennessee.
"Coach Elarbee and I have great conversations when we get on the phone. (We) talk about everything. Me and coach clicked when he was at UCF, but he has kept in touch with me since he's been at Tennessee," Zollicoffer added.
When looking at a school, Zollicoffer said he would look for "Academics and everything else. It really doesn't matter to me about the location and wins."
"A school is getting a calm, chill player that plays with a high motor on the field and just wants to help his teammates," he said on what a school will get in him.
Zollicoffer's other offers include Auburn, Georgia Tech, Florida, Maryland, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Virginia, and South Carolina.
