Tennessee Among David Sanders Jr.'s "Favorite" Schools

The Tennessee Volunteers have made a strong impression on 2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. (Charlotte, N.C.).

Providence Day offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. continues to enjoy his time around the University of Tennessee. They have crept into the forefront of this recruitment alongside other major national powers, and he continues to say very good things about them.

Sanders told VolQuest's Austin Price that Tennessee is standing out and among his top choices. "With Tennessee, obviously, they are one of my top schools. They are one of my favorite schools in the country." Sanders has a previous connection to Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre, now a Tennessee commit. He's grown on them in the weeks since, and MacIntyre should only help the Vols' case.

Sanders told On3's Chad Simmons that seven schools had checked in on him during the open period: Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. The Vols have been to Providence Day multiple times over the past few weeks to ensure they maximize their facetime with Sanders ahead of official visit season.

He has been in the spotlight since he was a freshman in high school. The No. 2 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings, is high on a trio of national programs heading into his senior season: Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee. The Vols have invested a lot of time into this recruitment, and Sanders understands the ramifications of his decision in the building.
