WATCH: Isaac Summey Talks Past Camp With Tennessee And Future Plans

Isaac Summey is a freshman corner and wide receiver at Boyd Buchanan High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has camped with Tennessee in the past and has been catching the eyes of plenty of people as he is extremely fast and was clocked in at nearly 21 MPH in his first-ever high school game. He spoke with Volunteer Country after his semi-final win to send him and his teammates to the Tennessee state championship.
Summey was asked how he felt after his win and responded, “I’m feeling great. You know, I had a couple of block-up passes and a lot of tackles. I probably had like six solo tackles. You know, I did my thing.”
We then dove into his past experience at Tennessee, where he competed at a camp. According to him and his parents, Summey was the only incoming freshman at that camp to be in the top prospect’s line. When talking about his Tennessee experience, Summey states, “It felt great; you know, I got to show my skills and expose them at a higher level and show that I was able to compete with people older than me and stuff like that.” He goes on to say, "Yes, sir, I will be at the camps this year; I’ll go to Rivals camps; I’ll be visiting too” when asked if he has any plans for Tennessee camps or anything of that nature.
As mentioned earlier, Isaac and his squad will compete for the state. When asked how big a deal it was to him, the talented freshman said, “It’s great. You know, it’s a big deal to me. I’m just trying to make sure I do my thing and help my team to make sure we win it.”
The freshman corner is currently a part of the KTOWN Ducks 7-on-7 squad. When asked about that, he responded, “I mean, it’s only going to make it better. You know, 7 on 7 makes me better, and all of the training I do makes me better, so I feel like in a couple of years from now, I’ll be one of the best players in the county.”
When asked what’s next, the freshman said, "State, that’s what’s next!” And he also mentions that he is going to get himself a ring. Although Summey is in the early stages of his high school career, it will be interesting to see how he can develop and how Tennessee might play a factor long term.
