WATCH: Joakim Dodson Makes Great Down-Field Play
Collierville High School wide receiver Joakim Dodson is the newest Tennessee Volunteers commit in the 2025 class, as he committed on Saturday. The three-star ranked in-state wide receiver brings many talents to the table, including a physical presence at the catch point and breakaway speed down the field.
Dodson plays high school ball at Collierville High School in Tennessee for the Dragons. He stands 6-1 and 181 pounds and put up quite the resume his junior season.
Dodson played in the toughest region in Tennessee and was easily the star player of his program. He chose the Volunteers over the Missouri Tigers and held offers from many other schools, including Cincinnati and Ole Miss.
He becomes the 6th current commit following behind George MacIntyre, Jack VanDorselaer, Justin Baker, Tyler Redmond, and Dylan Lewis. He is only the second commit from the state of Tennessee, following behind MacIntyre. He has expressed his feelings in a recent article with Volunteer Country about bringing more in-state talent, as he states. "I don’t have any targets, but all my in-state guys I’m going to go for! Come be a part of something that’s about to be very special!" Dodson made many impressive catches for the Dragons this past season, showing his true potential that wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope noticed early on.
