2021 wideout Adonai Mitchell recently made the move from Texas to Tennessee. Before making the move, Mitchell was offered by Tennessee. He has now visited his new home state school on a couple of occasions and plans to return soon. He breaks down his recruitment here.

Mitchell said of his recruitment, “Tennessee and Mizzou are really the top two.”

With Missouri, the biggest thing is, “they communicate a lot.” The Tigers are Mitchell’s most recent offer. They extended their offer on August 6th.

Many might think that the appeal to play at Missouri and move closer to his original home might be strong, but that is not the case.

Mitchell said, “honestly, I do not care about that. I do not care if I am back home or 1000 miles away. I just like any school that treats me like family and makes me feel at home.”

At Tennessee, Mitchell said, “I know that the coaches know what they are talking about there. They speak the game well.”

One coach at Tennessee really stands out for the talented 2021 pass catcher. Mitchell said, ” I feel comfortable putting my talents in Tee Martin’s hands.”

Mitchell went on to say of the appeal of playing for Martin, who has coached and recruited great receivers, ” I mean, honestly, that is awesome. He seems like the type of guy that can make my dreams come true. I really put my trust in him.”

Tennessee is in a very good spot in a recruitment that could see a decision coming soon. Mitchell said, ” I would say probably around mid-September.”

When the recruiting dead period ends and prospects are allowed to visit campuses again, Mitchell already has a plan laid out. ” Tennessee for sure, a Georgia game, and a Mizzou game.”

Mitchell went on to say, “I will probably definitely be at Tennessee for the First Home Game.”

When Mitchell finds the right school, it will have been a well thought out decision. Mitchell said, ” it will come down to really just talking with my family, my coaches, and finding the right fit for me.”

Mitchell feels that the best part of his game is, ” I am a guy that can run any route on the route tree.”

Something that people may not know about Mitchell is that he is a star Athlete, but suffers from Type 1 Diabetes. This is not a diagnosis that has ever slowed him down. One that has only helped to motivate him.

He is the 359th overall prospect in the 2021 class and the No. 54 WR, according to 247 Sports.
