21 Defensive Recruit's to know in the '21 Class: No.1 Dylan Brooks

Handley High School’s Dylan Brook is rated as the 20th overall prospect in the nation and the number two weak-side defensive end in the country for 2021.

Brooks measures in at 6’4, 215lbs and is a terror for opposing offensive tackle. His length couple with raw power and speed makes him one of the most coveted prospects in the country.

Brooks holds 24 Division I offers and has a top list of schools that includes the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, and Texas, among others.

Brooks has already visited Tennessee multiple times and will trip back to Knoxville on the weekend of January 18th. He also visited this past season during the Georgia State and Georgia games.

Brooks's strong relationship with Jeremy Pruitt and Derrick Ansley coupled, with their ties to Alabama, have kept Tennessee in the picture for Brooks. He has told VR2 how he has enjoyed watching the Vols fight during the two games he was on campus for.

You can expect Brooks to be at the top of the Vols big board during the 2021 class, but they will face stiff competition to lock him down.

Analysis- Brooks is an elite edge rusher at the high school level, who possesses the frame and physical tools to be an immediate impact player at a Power 5 school. Brooks has the ability to play multiple positions in a defensive set and has played with his hand in the dirt at times as well. His athleticism has allowed him to play WR at Handley with success. That athleticism translates well to his pass-rushing skill set. He has a natural ability to manipulate opposing blockers and win 1-on-1's routinely with either a bull or speed rush. Brooks's pursuit skills are the most impressive feature of his game, and he has an uncanny ability to make something happen when pursuing a play.
