Tennessee extended an offer to a dynamic defender from Georgia yesterday, in 2022, Lee County HS athlete, Jaron Willis. The 6'2, 210lbs rising junior already holds a handful of Division 1 offers, but he reacts to his offer from the Vols here.

Willis said in the offer, "it meant a lot. My grandma likes the school, and it felt like the offer was for her. When she heard about the news, her world just lit up, so yeah, that was a special offer for me."

Willis learned of the offer from a phone conversation with the new outside linebackers coach, Shelton Felton, another south Georgia native. Willis said, "I was talking to him, and he is from the south just like I am and having a great talk about living down here. He can relate to me."

The Vols see Willis's ability to make plays in multiple phases of the defensive game. He said, "they said they like how I can be physical at any time with my speed to the ball, and my ball skills when it is up in the air, and how I put my face in the play."

Willis helped Lee County to an 11-2 record last season last season, and he was on the 2018 team that went 15-1 with the only loss coming to St. Frances Academy (MD) in a national championship game.

Willis holds offers from Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, and South Carolina, as well. He should continue to pick up more offers during his Junior season with Lee County.
