Amarius Mims is the elite of the elites in the the 2021 recruiting cycle. Mims is rated as the number two overall prospect in the class, and he is the number one offensive tackle. He holds offers from practically every SEC school and most of the major Power 5 schools across the country.

Mims has kept his recruitment relatively quiet while making his visits this winter to check out the schools pursuing him, which included a trip to Tennessee on January 20th. Mims has since visited Auburn and Florida.

Today, however, Mims broke some silence in his recruitment, when he announced his commitment date of October 14th. The Vols remain in the list, which you can see below in an edit made by Hayes Fawcett.

Mims is rated a five-star on every national ranking site, and you can view his highlight tape here to see why. He measures in at 6'8, 285lbs, and he has the agility to play as a defensive end.

Mims plays his high school football at Bleckley County in Cochran, Georgia. His recruitment is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing ones to watch in recent memory with these national powers battling.
