Ian Jackson is one of the most versatile defenders in the country. He measures in at 6'2", 210lbs, and he can play multiple positions in the secondary or as a linebacker. The four-star prospect made the trip to Knoxville this weekend to check out the Vols, and he broke the visit down here.

Jackson said on the Saturday trip to campus, "The visit was great, but what stood out the most was the weight room and weight-training staff. I was impressed with the core values of the program and how it can translate to practice and game time."

Jackson spent plenty of time with the Tennessee coaching staff looking at his positions, and he even netted an offer before he left. Jackson said on this, "They see me playing multiple positions on defense. I feel like with my skill set I could play anywhere in the secondary or the linebacker positions."

Jackson said of picking up the offer, "It was exciting, and it made me feel valued and a major piece to the 2021 recruiting class."

Jackson has a slate of visits lined up for the next couple of months and the list of schools is as follows: Texas A&M, Georgia, Florida State, Louisville, West Virginia, and Iowa.

Jackson knows what it will take for him to choose a school, and it comes down to one key piece that his mother has instilled in him. He said, "Education. Most of my family have attended and graduated from college. My mother has been in education for over 20 years and has always preached it. I also want to go to a place that I can fit in."

Jackson is currently rated as the 250th overall prospect in the ESPN Jr. 300 and as the 304th prospect per the 247 Sports composite rankings. In a day that is valuing positionless defenders, there is a strong chance that his stock will rise over the winter.
