Four-star UGA DL commit enjoys weekend trip to Tennessee, plans official visit

Nazir Stackhouse discusses visit to Rocky Top

Nazir Stackhouse was one of the surprise visitors that showed up for Tennessee's senior day game against Vanderbilt. The long-time Georgia commit has a strong relationship with Tracy Rocker, and that has kept the Vols in the mix here. Stackhouse discusses his visit and more here.

Stackhouse said of his biggest takeaway, "The biggest take away of was talking about pros. You can always depend on the coaches and really learn from the coaching staff because of their experience and knowledge."

Stackhouse spent plenty of time with Tennessee players, including defensive lineman Ja'quain Blakely, another Georgia native. Stackhouse said of this, "They had me meet with some of the players. One of their names was Blakely. I never got his first name, but he was very excited to tell me how great of a system UT was and how coach Tracy rocker and Jeremy Pruit are true to their word."

Blakely has been one of the players that have started to thrive in Jeremy Pruitt's defensive system. The same system that the 6'4, 305lbs defensive lineman could see himself playing in.

Stackhouse said, " I can see myself fitting into that defense really well." This is because it is similar to the defense that Stackhouse plays in at Columbia (GA) high school. He added, " the 3 man front, mixed in with a 4 man front is kind of what we run at my school with a strong interior and a fast outside rush."

Stackhouse is going to give the Vols an opportunity to make another move later on in the cycle. Stackhouse said, " I am planning on taking an OV in January."

As far as when the process will end, Stackhouse plans to let the process run its course. He added, "the process will conclude in February."

Stackhouse is rated as the 273rd overall prospect, number 25 defensive tackle, and number 26 prospect from Georgia in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports.
