Tennessee offer 'meant a lot' to elite QB MJ Morris

Tennessee joined the mix for an electric quarterback from the Peach State yesterday in MJ Morris of Carrollton. The 2022 prospect is fresh off the heels of helping Carrollton to a 10-2 that culminated with a 24-21 playoff loss to eventual state champion, Buford. Morris is rated as a top 100 prospect in the 2022 class (79th overall) and the 4th dual-threat quarterback. Morris talks about the Tennessee offer and more here.

Morris said on the offer from the Vols, "The Tennessee offer meant a lot because I know and trained with Aaron Beasley and Harrison Bailey." Beasley is well-known in the area and is a relative of another Carrollton High standout, Kevin Swint, who is signed with Clemson. It is no surprise that Bailey and Morris have a relationship, as Bailey is one of the more well-known recruits in the country, and the fact he trains with one of the best QB coaches in America, Tony Ballard.

Tennessee will need relationships like this to pay off if they hope to stay in Morris's recruitment, as he already holds 14 offers including Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and others.

Morris said on his recruitment, "due to it being so early, I have not focused on a specific team, but I will say that Clemson, UGA, and Alabama have amazing facilities."

Morris added about Tennessee, "I've heard a lot about Tennessee's facilities and can't wait to camp there. We are planning on hitting the camp circuit hard and visit schools I have not seen."

When you turn on the film, it is easy to see why Morris is so touted as recruit. When asked about his game, he offered up, "I feel my ability is unique because I'm a pass-first guy but also have the ability to run and extend plays. I'm also intelligent and can read the defense. Lastly, I'm a hard-worker, and I don't think anyone will outwork me on the field or in the classroom."

Morris is currently rated as the 79th overall prospect in the nation, number 4 dual-threat quarterback, and number 6 prospect from the state of Georgia for the 2022 cycle, according to 247 Sports.
