Top priority linebacker Jeremiah Williams enjoys ‘authentic’ trip to Tennessee

2021 LB Jeremiah Williams mad the trip from Birmingham to Knoxville this past weekend, and he came away with high praises for the Vols. Williams breaks down that visit here with VR2.

Williams said on what stood out about the Vols, “The highlight of the visit was coach Pruitt coaching me up in his office .. like actual hands-on coaching. He was telling me my pros and cons, it was really authentic.”

Williams, who recently included Tennessee in his top list of schools, got to hear their pitch first hand this weekend. He said, “the message of the staff was basically I can come in and play different linebacker spots because I’m a versatile player-like I can edge rush or drop in coverage or play Mike.”

Did the Vols do enough to make a move coming out of the weekend? It appears so, as Williams said, “I absolutely loved Tennessee. I won’t forget that visit when it’s time to make my decision.”

Williams still has some visits lined up before he starts thinking about where he wants to go, and he said, “I plan on going to South Carolina next Saturday.”

However, when the time comes for him to make a decision, he said, “the major factor of my decision is growth in a program and the coaching staff make me feel home. I understand where I’ll fit in their scheme and defense and who best fits my major.”

The 6’4, 220lbs prospect is rated as the 158th overall prospect in the country, the number 9 weak-side defensive end, and the number 5 prospect from the state of Alabama, according to 247 Sports.
