Tennessee lands commitment from top target out of North Carolina, Isaac Washington

The 2021 class is off to a great start for this off-season. Earlier today, Tennessee landed a commitment from Isaac Washington, a 3 star prospect that was higher on their board than some higher ranked guys. This article will give you a quick rundown on who Washington is and what he brings to the table.

Washington is a 6’3 265lb defensive lineman out of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. He plays for East Surry High School and is listed as a top 40 defensive tackle in the nation. His offer list may suggest that his ranking is likely to be much higher or should be much higher, as he holds offers from multiple power 5 schools such as Auburn, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. Tennessee offered him at a camp back in July, which paid off for them in the end. They liked what they saw because he was a very aggressive and athletic player for his size that could develop into a stud 3-4 defensive end.

With an offer list that’s short but loaded with some top schools in the SEC and ACC, id expect more to come in and his ranking to be much higher after camp season and his senior season of high school. Good first prospect to land for this offseason and one that should help kickstart this 2021 recruiting class.
