Tennessee women’s basketball coach Kellie Harper announced on Monday that sophomore guard Zaay Green has suffered a torn ACL in her right knee, ruling her out indefinitely following an accident at practice on Saturday.

“We all hurt terribly for Zaay because of how hard she has worked to improve her game and help our program this season,” Harper said. “This is an unwanted challenge for Zaay, but I know she will put all of her energy and focus into rehabbing her knee and getting back on the court as soon as possible.”

An All-SEC Freshman Team selection a year ago, Green was Tennessee’s leading scorer at 13 points per game and is one of just two players remaining from last season’s starting lineup.

This story will be updated as the situation develops.
