March Madness Countdown: Game by Game, Round 1

We picked all 68 teams in the field correctly, now we try and pick the winners--much, much tougher

It's time to have some more fun with March Madness.

So here's our TMG look into what will happen the next three weeks--game by game.

We will start with the 36 NCAA tournament games that will be played this week, beginning with the Play-in Games in Dayton on Tuesday.

Play-in Round

1. No 16. Fairleigh Dickinson vs. No. 16 Prairie View A&M: Prairie View has lost only 1 game this calendar year, now it's 2.

2. No. 11 Belmont vs. No. 11 Temple: Belmont proves it belongs in this tournament.

3. No. 16 North Carolina Central vs. No. 16 North Dakota State: ND State won both of its tournament games by double digits.

5. No. 1 Duke vs. No. 16 NC Central-ND State winner: No. 16 vs. No. 1 upset of a year ago.

6. No. 8 Virginia Commonwealth vs. No. 9 Central Florida: VCU was best A10 team all season, until upset by URI; UCF beat Houston and Cincinnati.

7. No. 5 Mississippi State vs. No. 12 Liberty: Miss State beat Wofford, Auburn and Saint Mary's. Liberty beat UCLA and Lipscomb. Edge Bulldogs.

Maryland is a mystery every game, but good enough to win.

10. No. 3 LSU vs. No. 14 Yale: LSU is in turmoil and won't go far and Yale will give them a scare.

13. No. 1 Gonzaga vs. No. 16 F.Dickinson\Prairie View winner: ​Zags want to prove loss to Saint Mary's was a fluke.

21. No. 1 Virginia vs. No. 16 Gardner-Webb: Another No. 1 vs No. 16 challenge for Cavs and not a UMBC (You Must be Cinderella) in sight.

22. No. 8 Ole Miss vs. No. 9 Oklahoma: Staggering Ole Miss (2-5 last seven games) vs. inconsistent OU. Coin flip.

23. No. 5 Wisconsin vs. No. 12 Oregon: Oregon is on roll, but Wisconsin is more fundamentally sound that plays defense.

29. No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 16 Iona: Carolina second team could beat Iona.
