Finally, we get to see whether Ohio State or Michigan is the real thing.

Not that it will matter in the playoffs, since the Big Ten's track record there of late is abysmal.

But it makes for good theater on the final weekend of the season, with the Big Ten finally getting to flex its football muscles with a game that will help shape the national championship chase (playing Penn State does not count as a big game anymore since Jimmy Franklin's teams always do their accordion thing against the league's Big 2).

Wonder if Jim Harbaugh will be watching.

On to the games:

OREGON over Oregon State, giving 13 1/2 (tonight)

It's hard to envision Oregon State getting re-energized after that wrenching home loss to Washington at home last week that ended its big goal hopes for the year. Now the Beavers take to the road against one the nation's hottest teams and most explosive offenses. Looks like a recipe for disaster for OSU.

Alabama over AUBURN, giving 14

QB Jalen Milroe and the Tide look to be peaking at the right time, and if Auburn couldn't handle New Mexico State and QB Diego Pavia last week how can they possibly hope to throw a scare into 'Bama? Does not matter where this game is played this year.

Ohio State over MICHIGAN, taking 3 1/2

Have the Wolverines been adequately prepared for a game of this magnitude? Buckeyes' offense is a daunting challenge for any defense. Not sure Michigan's offense can keep pace, which is why the Wolverines will rely heavily on their ground game to shorten the game.

Maryland over RUTGERS, giving 1

What position matters more than any other? Right, quarterback. Maryland has one. Rutgers does not. The Rutgers fee fall continues.

Kansas over CINCINNATI, giving 6

It's true that no one in Lawrence cares about football now that hoops season has started, but no one has cared about Cincy's floundering football team all year. Bearcats face a major rebuild.

VIRGINIA over Virginia Tech, taking 3

Cavs have been competitive of late and this is their bowl game. Spoiling Tech's bowl eligibility would make Virginia's season.

Last week vs, spread: 3-3

Season to date vs. spread: 29-39-2
