JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The UConn baseball team (2-1) return to the diamond to face off against the University of North Florida Ospreys (1-4) in a three-game series beginning on Friday, February 25 at 6:05 p.m. The series will continue with a Saturday, February 26 at 2:05 p.m. and a series finale on Sunday, February 27 at 1:05 p.m. All three games will be streamed on SwoopLife Live and audio broadcasts on MIXLR.

The Huskies are coming off a 2-1 weekend at the USF Invitational with UConn defeating USF, 5-4, in 10 innings on Opening Day and closing out the weekend with a 9-2 win against ACC power Louisville on Sunday.

Grad transfer Enzo Stefanoni shined in his debut with the Huskies with 6.2 shutouts innings that featured eight strikeouts and zero walks. He notched his first victory at UConn and his outing led to him being named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week. Shortstop Zach Bushling took home BIG EAST Player of the Week honors with a 7-14 (.500) weekend at the plate that featured a two-run homer against Louisville.

Right-hander Austin Peterson started his season on a high note with a career-high 13 strikeouts in his first start of the season. That total was second-best in the country during the first weekend of the season.

UConn enters this weekend 4-2 all-time against North Florida. However, the Huskies dropped their three-game set against the Ospreys back in 2018.

Fourth-year sophomore Kevin Ferrer is 4-4 at the dish to begin the season as he works his way back from injury in the preseason. The Pawcatuck, Conn. native delivered a 3-3 day at the dish against Louisville including a two-out RBI double in the first inning to get the UConn offense going.

Just 17 days after having surgery on the hamate bone in his left hand, All-BIG EAST first team OF Erik Stock played on Opening Day. The UConn left field played in two games on the weekend and went 5-10 with a pair of doubles and a pair of RBI including a game-tying single in the 7th against USF. The Virginia Beach, Va. native did sit out the Sunday game against Louisville but should be ready to go for this weekend.
