Softball: Sokolsky Receives Big East Pitcher Of The Week
Storrs, CT – Elise Sokolsky was named Pitcher of the Week in the BIG EAST Conference for her performances against BU and Butler.
Sokolsky started off the week pitching three scoreless innings against Boston University in the midweek. She notched three strikeouts in that outing.
Over the weekend at Butler, Sokolsky made appearances in all three games totaling 15.1 innings pitched, 24 strikeouts, and 0 runs given up. She capped off her dominant weekend with a complete game shutout on Sunday only surrendering two hits.
Sokolsky now has 86 strikeouts on the season and holds a conference high 11 wins on the season.
She will look to continue building on her impressive Freshman campaign this week when the Huskies travel to UMASS on Wednesday.
