With the game tied at 8-all heading into the fourth quarter, senior Grace Coon netted three straight strikes to give the Huskies a one-goal advantage before senior Sydney Watson polished off her four-goal effort with 45 seconds left to seal the outcome.

Watson, a reigning IWLCA First Team All-American, led UConn in points (6), goals (4) and assists (2). Coon followed with four points and senior Lia LaPrise added a pair of goals.

On the defensive end, junior Ariana Kline posted a game-high five caused turnovers and senior Landyn White notched 10 saves.

Junior Kyra Place and Watson got on the board early as the score held at 2-2 after the opening 15 minutes. UConn converted two yellow cards into man-up goals in the second quarter and started to pull away, 6-2, at the break.

Watson opened the third with her third score of the day off a free position shot, but Fairfield swung the momentum from there, ripping four straight goals to take its first lead. LaPrise broke a 13-minute scoring drought by polishing off a feed from Coon in transition to tie it up once again, 8-8, heading into the final stanza.

From there, Coon took over the game as she went for a trio of unassisted rips to pull the Huskies back in front for good as they improved to 7-2 at Conway Field.

UConn will return to the field for a top-25 matchup on Saturday, Feb. 19 at No. 13 James Madison.
