The exodus of Andy Enfield recruits has begun on the USC men's basketball team roster!

11-year USC men's basketball head coach Enfield announced earlier this week that he was moving on to coach at Southern Methodist University. It became clear pretty quickly that that could have a major impact on the Trojans' incumbent roster. The team has since replaced him with former Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Eric Musselman.

After it was revealed earlier this week that four-star Harvard Westlake senior point guard Trent Perry was re-opening his recruitment (but would keep his hometown team USC as an option), it felt perhaps inevitable that more de-commitments were on the way. Three other 2023-24 players with lingering NCAA eligibility have already entered the league's transfer portal (most notably starting small forward Kobe Johnson, who's transferring to the UCLA Bruins), after all.

Now, another four-star backcourt prospect is reportedly also de-committing from the program. Shooting guard Liam Campbell intends to reopen his recruitment and is asking to be let loose from his National Letter of Intent to play for the Trojans, per Joe Tipton of On3.

“Due to the announcement of Coach Enfield’s departure, I have decided to request a release from my NLI and re-open my recruitment,” Campbell told On3. “Thank you to Coach Enfield, Capko, Mobley, Morris, Farmer, Karis, Swets and all the Trojan staff and family for welcoming me with open arms and believing in me. "

“I will continue to put in the work and play with passion for the game I love and see where it takes me," Campbell continued. "I look forward to finding a good fit where I can develop as a player while keeping USC as an option.”

The 6'4" senior out of Owyhee High School in Meridian, Idaho is listed as the No. 16 shooting guard in the nation, and the best player in the state, at any position, among his graduating class, per 247Sports.
