COLUMBUS, Ohio — Following No. 10 seed USC's 72-62 first-round NCAA Tournament loss to No. 7 seed Michigan State, Trojans head coach Andy Enfield stayed positive.

"Our players had a very successful season," he said.

THEY SAID IT

Enfield's overall thoughts on the Michigan State loss:

"Unfortunately this game did not go as planned in the second half. There was a lot of timely shotmaking by Michigan State and some timely misses on our part. I thought that was the difference in the game, the second half. We also had eight second-half turnovers and only three at halftime. A few of those were self-inflicted...Our guys competed and played very hard the whole game."

Enfield on his team's consistent scoring droughts in losses:

"I thought in the second half there were a couple possessions where we went one on one too much instead of just playing basketball the way we're capable of. We also missed some wide-open, timely shots. To win a game like this, they hit a couple of big three's and we missed some. We also had eight turnovers in the second half."

Ellis on his performance and Michigan State's defense:

"They did a great job. I let my teammates down today. I didn't make shots. They made things tough for me. Their team defense was tough...I played too fast today. I didn't change my pace all year. That's on me."
